Ideas:
We discussed many possible ideas for our advert by using mind mapping and just talking about them to finalise our idea. Our teachers also proposed a couple of ideas to help us with our advert but we were keen to stick with our original idea of a Magnum in a metal case. After many ideas being discussed, we finally decided on one and hopefully we stick with it.
Initial plans and proposals:
The advert will began with a man dressed in a suit entering a dark room with a table in the middle. There will be a voice over telling the man to look in one of the drawers in the desk, telling him about the mission he is about to go on. The man will be a spy or a secret agent. As the man has gathered all he needs for the mission, the voice over will tell him to look in one of the filing cabinets where a Magnum is. The voice over will say something like 'and finally the most important thing, good luck on your mission.' This shows the importance of the Magnum and that it is masculine. Our proposed audience is men and this ad will help achieve this audience by using two males as the original adverts use many women and the product is seen as feminine.
Identification of overt/hidden message:
By producing the proposed advertisement, we hope to achieve more males buying the product of Magnum and broadening the audience. We want to keep the sophisticated and luxury style of the advert but we also hope this advert will present the product as important.
Content:
First there will be a tracking shot of the man walking towards the room. A close up of the mans face to see his emotions. A match on action shot as he enters the dark room. A close up of the mans hands as we enters A close up of the mans face as he bites into the Magnum then as he falls back onto the sofa, it zooms out showing his location and how relaxed he is. These are only some proposed shots as we will get together and decide on the shots.
Style:
Our advertisement will be a sophisticated mini-drama.
Relevance to audience:
Our advertisement will target our specified audience, which is men, by using a male and the idea of a gun exchange/secret mission.
Shauna,
ReplyDeleteThis is a brief yet adequate post addressing each of the required areas. I have awarded P2 & M2 for this post.
To bump it up, make the following additions:
- Just mention that the client is Unilever and the brand is Magnum
- say how your proposed advert is a mini-drama
- say what your exact/proposed message is, e.g., what do you want men to learn/gain from watching this advert? Magnums are not just for women?
- How exactly do you propose to entice men to purchase Magnums?
Small changes/additions that will make a big difference.
