The basic outline of our documentary is that it includes facts and statistics of Suicide while also showing clips/footage linking and representing that fact. The facts will mainly be about the causes and why suicide happens. Instead of the documentary focusing on one particular person, like many documentaries, we will just include footage without showing the faces of the people, and each statistic/fact will fade in and out on the screen followed by the clip linking to it. The clips will mainly be medium shots, and close ups of objects. For an example, if there is a statistic linking to Social Networking, then there would be a medium shot of a person on a computer from behind, then a close up of a message been sent or the computer mouse. There will most likely not be a voice-over during the documentary but music. The first facts that will probably appear will be general facts about 'how many people commit suicide in the world a year' etc. then, it will move on to the causes, how and why etc.
Primary and Secondary Target Audience
The primary audience for our proposed documentary will mainly be teenagers aged between 14 and 19 years old, of both genders. We would like to aim out documentary to teenagers who have any sort of background and ethnicity. The psychographics of our primary audience will most likely be teenagers interested in psychological behavior.
The secondary audience for our documentary will be anybody who does or doesn't know about suicide as the documentary will be informing the audience in a formal way.
Purpose/Aim
The purpose and aim of our documentary is to show people who may or may not know the facts about suicide, informing the audience.
We hope to achieve:
- Informing the audience strongly with the messages.
- Raising more awareness of the facts of suicide to the audience.
Format
Our documentary will be a performative format, as we would like to include interviews and reenactments etc. The style of our documentary will be serious and factual.
Possible Potential Constraints
- No plugs.
- If we exceed our budget.
- If our locations are suitable.
- If our documentary will offend anyone (BCAP code)
- Hiding identities.
We have to make sure our documentary will not offend or harm anyone. We have decided to include a warning at the beginning of the documentary.
We have considered libel and defamation by being truthful with the information we provide, for example, when we interview we ask for honest results.

Proposed Interviews:
Counselors and people effected by suicide.
Questions:
- From your experience, do you think mental health is linked to suicide?
- If not, what do you think the reasons are?
- Do you have a lot of people come in and talk to you personally?
- Do you think people don't realize how many people are effected?
- Do you think people should be more aware?
We were both knew it was a major problem and were interested in finding out more about suicide. We've seen a lot of things from social networking sites and we believe it should be made more aware.
